Make-it-fit shirt 2011-02-16 22:50
Prêt-à-porter is sometimes annoying – when it’s made in so many examples that the whole country is wearing the same thing therefore destroying the effect of the even most original design – or when you really like it but it doesn’t fit well enough, a small misfitting can turn into a big thing like not feeling confident in your own clothes.
That’s what happened to my friend Maite who received a striped shirt dress as a present, unfortunately too straight around the waist – the “bag” effect.
So this Sunday, after a homemade pancakes breakfast to wake us up, we got it solved by fitting the shirt around the waist, sewing it with a better curve than just a straight line and cutting off the fabric remaining. Aaah that’s better when it fits, right?
Really enjoyed having the breakfast-sewing-chat with you Maite, hope your taco dinner went well after that!

Thanks!
@Lorraine: Maite is like me an prefers when it just shows the clothes, not the head.
@Magalie: I didn’t sew the shirt, I just made it fit on Maite. I haven’t sewn a shirt yet but could try – let’s discuss it!

For inspiration about how to recyle a man’s shirt, I found this site:

Maybe you’ll get inspired too and start stealing R.’s shirts!
