The late Christmas presents to our friends in Sydney are on their way.

Sophie, Benoit and their 2 beautiful daughters Axelle and Romane welcomed us in their home in Sydney for new year 2010 (that is, 2 years ago) and the memories of the fantastic time we spent there don’t seem to fade away.

Hope you guys will like the headband and the 2 traveler bags! And hope they won’t get stuck in customs…

Purple silk blouse with just a little bit of see-through. This blouse, worn with this skirt and warmed up with a wool cardigan, was my christmas outfit.

Lou’s collage on our trip to Copenhagen (almost 3 years ago!) inspired this sketch of a casual black skirt and loose striped tee to match Copenhagen’s laid back mood in spring.

Thanks again Lou for this beautiful gift! It’s been a great inspiration that I keep on the window right in front of the sewing machine.

I packed very light for christmas holidays, and this A-line skirt was part of the 3-4 outfits I took with me. It’s made of the finest black wool that catches the light when it moves.

I love wearing it relaxed with black tights and a striped top or more dressed up with a silk blouse like on this sketch.

This studded hat would also go very well with it.

The holidays went very fast, between the christmas celebrations (8 celebrations, exploding my personal record, that’s a big christmas meal every other day during 2 weeks!), the new year party, some snowboarding in the Alpes.

As 2012 is kicking off very fast with my real life job, I’ll do my best to keep this blog updated in the coming month, but can’t guarantee weekly updates.

I’m thinking about making the stripes with black lace bands and I’ll skip the big bow.

The dress will be made for winter, with long sleeves, in a warm camel wool jersey fabric.

Still without a working camera to shoot my latest creations. Well, creations sound very serious. Attempts may be more appropriate, I’ll let you judge once you’ll see them!

No camera means I’m still browsing in photos archives to look for more eye-candy. How well do those lemons pair up with this Marimekko pattern? Romain took the lemon picture from a market in french Guyana. And Marimekko is a Finnish textile design company that is popular in Sweden. The fabric is in medium weight cotton and would be great for a dress like this when we get closer to summer.

My camera is broken, that’s a very bad timing because I’ve been quite productive lately and have sewn several clothes I’d like to show you…

In the mean time, this gives me some time to browse through old pictures and find new inspiration, like this sweet and wintery color theme: navy blue, pink, white and beige.

The pink is from raspberry macarons, very delicate french “cookies” that we got thanks to Magalie and Etienne (hmmm, they were delicious!). The navy blue and beige is from this table mat.

It’s this time of the year again: fall/winter equals to layered looks. What about a silk purple blouse and a black layered wool skirt with a discrete split – all to be worn with unlimited wool complements!

This dress is my first candidate for the upcoming Christmas dinners! I like how easy it is to obtain raw edges with the purple silk and wool fabric. I made the sleeves out of the remains of the wool fabric used for this winter basic top.

It will pair up nicely with black tights and pumps. I’m also thinking blue accessories.

I hope that somehow I’m going to find time to realize some of the other christmas outfits that I’ve been thinking of lately. Will keep you posted!

Can’t believe it’s already been almost a year since we had the last sticka / crochet fika. Sticka means knit in swedish, and fika, well, it’s a great swedish concept about meeting to discuss and eat.

Last week end, Sonja and I got a private crash course in knitting by Regina and as a result we all had lots of advices, serious training and funny discussions. Our thumbs were aching for a day. So were our bellies, but this is definitely not because of too much knitting… Rather too much eating!

Here are the things we’re working on at the moment:
- Sonja’s test sample as she calls it, in a beautiful merino wool (and to my opinion it could be used as the beginning of a scarf)
- Regina’s mittens made with the advanced nålebinding technique (this technique actually makes very warm gloves)
- My clutch to-be in a natural colored wool, with cable knitting (thanks Regina for the advices!)

Already looking forward to having the next sticka fika, thanks Sonja and Regina for making knitting so much fun!
